Collaboration with RF-SISU

Who are RF-SISU?

The Swedish Sports Confederation (Riksidrottsförbundet) and SISU Sports Educators (SISU Idrottsutbildarna) are sport’s support organisation and adult education association, represented across the country through 19 different RF-SISU districts. Together, they work to develop Swedish sport through popular education, training, and a strong democratic club movement. The districts are tasked with representing, supporting, and coordinating sport’s shared issues regionally and locally, and with serving as the link between the national organisation and the clubs.

RF-SISU Västerbotten has been a partner in the Democracy Project and participated in the development of the materials available on this website, “Children’s Sports.”

Report to RF-SISU

When you work with any of the materials on Children’s Sport, it creates conversations about safety, joy, participation, and influence. This is the core of sport’s popular education: learning through dialogue, sharing experiences, and reflection. Therefore, your work with exercises, discussion questions, and shared conversations can be reported as popular education activities to RF-SISU.

This provides you/the club with:

  • Support in the club’s development
RF-SISU provides support, guidance, and tools that help the club develop its operations, leadership, and culture in a long-term and sustainable manner.

  • Stronger democracy and participation
Popular education is based on dialogue and reflection. By working together in learning, safety, participation, and shared values are created throughout the club.

  • Access to resources and continued support
When the club reports its popular education activities, it gains the opportunity for educational support, development initiatives, and continued funding via RF-SISU.

What is a study circle?

The learning group is a form of activity within popular education in sports and a simple way to collaborate within the association. You meet in a smaller group and learn through conversation, reflection, and the exchange of experiences around a common topic.
