Well-being Parents
Being a leader in sports today entails high demands and a heavy workload. Adults in various roles within association life therefore need to collaborate to ensure that children and young people have their rights met. Appointing Well-being Parents is a way to share responsibility and work towards a safe sports environment for everyone.
Purpose
We aim to have Well-being Parents in our training groups. The purpose of this role is to strengthen safety, well-being, and participation within the training group by amplifying the voices of children and young people, while also focusing on soft values.
Main tasks
- Be present and see all children.
- Listen and capture thoughts on well-being, emotional state, and community.
- Be a trusted adult to talk to.
- Communicate children’s and young people’s views as needed.
- Contribute to an inclusive and positive environment within the group.
Both leaders and other important adults are encouraged to complete this short online training from Save the Children for increased knowledge.
