The participants are paired up in twos and practise coaching each other in a specific exercise. They then give each other feedback and tips based on what they observe and on the purpose of the exercise.
How it works:
- Choose an exercise that the children know well and feel confident doing.
- Pair the children up in twos.
- One child then performs the exercise for their buddy, who gives feedback afterwards (3–5 min).
- Switch roles.
- Finish by talking about what they learned from coaching each other and how they can continue to do more often in training what worked well.
It is important that the children know each other well and feel comfortable with each other, and that you as the coach provide support when needed without taking over—be patient so the participants have the chance to solve it themselves.
