After a match or competition, the group collectively analyzes what worked well, what requires further development, and what can be improved. These discussions build tactical understanding while also allowing participants to practice reflecting on the events and identifying personal takeaways. It is acceptable for individuals to have different experiences of the same match or competition.
How it works:
- Immediately after the match or competition, or at the next training session: “What did we do well in the match/competition?”
- Allow the participants to respond without the leaders confirming whether they agree or not. “What specifically worked well? How can we reflect on the aspects that were less successful?”
- Discuss together without singling out specific individuals or external factors, such as the weather, referees, or equipment.
- The leader adds their observations.
Summarize the discussion orally for the group and follow up at the next training or competition session to ensure the children feel their thoughts are being taken seriously.
