Most Enjoyable Activity

7–9 år

How it works:

Children get to share what they enjoyed most during the training session and if there’s anything they’d like to do again. This provides you, as a leader, with valuable feedback and allows each child to have their voice heard.

  • Gather the group at the end of the training session.
  • Go around in a circle and let each child mention one thing they enjoyed and would like to do again.
  • Make a note of what the children say. Reinforce their feedback, for example, by saying “If I understood correctly, many of you enjoyed sprinting and high jump, is that right?”.
  • Use the feedback for the next training session.

One option could be to do a show of hands or an ‘ostrich vote’, where all the children close their eyes or look down and raise their hand to avoid peer pressure. For example, “Long jump was the most fun!” – the children raise their hand to answer yes to the question, otherwise they keep their hand down.

Why democratic leadership:

• Stay longer in sports
• Thrive and feel better
• Develop their performance
• Dare to speak up if something is wrong!
• Start where you are and build step by step.
• Every small change makes a difference!
