A regular survey or discussion where the young people can provide feedback on how they feel in the group and what would strengthen the sense of community.
How it works:
- For example, 3 times per term
- Use either a short digital survey or group discussions
- Ask questions such as: “How do you feel in the group on a scale of 1–5?”, “Do you feel included?”, “What would make you feel even better?” “What is the most enjoyable part of coming to training?”
- Review the results together with the group
- Identify 2–3 concrete things you can prioritise to work on going forward. Preferably two things you already do well and should continue doing, and something you are doing less well and want to spend more time on.
If using a survey, ensure it is anonymous and that participation is voluntary.
Tip: Involve parents. How can they provide support in working on the priority areas that the participants want to strengthen or improve?!
