Allow the players to identify for themselves what they need to improve. This increases self-awareness and motivation.
How it works:
After a match, competition, or training session, in small groups (4-6 children):
- “What do you think we need to practice more?”
- Allow them to discuss for 5 minutes and identify 2-3 areas.
- Each group presents to the whole group.
The leader summarizes:
- “Excellent observations! Next week, we will focus specifically on passing and defensive positioning.”
Follow-up:
- Demonstrate that their input influences the training content.
It is important that players feel they have the opportunity to try different solutions without there being a right or wrong answer. By trying various solutions, players learn over time what works best.
